Evaluation of biogas as alternative energy generated in the chimneys of the "La Esmeralda" landfill in Manizales, Caldas

In the present work of degree wants to evaluate the biogas that is produced in the chimneys of the sanitary landfill of Manizales "La Esmeralda" to determine the viability of this as an alternative energy source thanks to the natural process by decomposition of urban solid waste, the company EMAS SAS, who sees an opportunity to use this resource as a possible source of alternative energy, also sees that through a process of purification and use it contributes to the mitigation of the environmental impact that occurs when this gas is released into the atmosphere and have negative effects on the environment, since this biogas is considered a greenhouse gas.En el presente trabajo de grado se quiere evaluar el biogás que se produce en las chimeneas del relleno sanitario de Manizales “La Esmeralda” para determinar la viabilidad de este como fuente de energía alternativa gracias al proceso natural por descomposición de los residuos sólidos urbanos, la empresa EMAS S.A.S, quien ve una oportunidad de aprovechamiento de dicho recurso como posible fuente de energía alternativa, ve también que mediante un proceso de purificación y aprovechamiento se contribuye a la mitigación del impacto ambiental que se presenta al disponer de este gas a la atmósfera y tener efectos negativos en el ambiente, ya que este biogás es considerado gas de efecto invernadero.Emas S.A.S
